Southern Nevada will soon welcome its latest casino as Boyd Gaming plans to unveil Cadence Crossing Casino by late March 2026, replacing Jokers Wild Casino and catering both local residents as well as tourists alike.
Boyd Gaming, one of the key players in Southern Nevada market, recently unveiled that their Cadence Crossing Casino project near completion is located along Boulder Highway in Henderson and southeast from Las Vegas Strip. They announced it is expected to open by late first quarter 2026.
Boyd Gaming did not disclose the total cost of their project; however, according to its CFO they have allocated $75 Million of capital investments towards Cadence Crossing and Paradise projects.
Cadence Crossing will offer over 450 slot and video poker machines across its 50,000 square-foot space at opening. In addition, Cadence Crossing will also feature food and beverage offerings alongside its center bar. Future development plans could see additional gaming areas become part of Cadence Crossing or perhaps an uptown hotel boasting four stories with 114 guestrooms.
Cadence Crossing construction officially kicked off on April 3, 2025 – marking a crucial moment in Boyd Gaming’s expansion efforts in this part of Virginia.
Growth Opportunity in Henderson
Keith Smith, Boyd Gaming’s Chief Executive, noted that Cadence Crossing’s opening coincides with Henderson’s explosive growth due to an unprecedented housing boom. Cadence master-planned residential community nearby the casino site reported significant home sales last year – ranking amongst top master-planned communities nationwide.
Smith expressed confidence that the casino would take full advantage of strong residential growth to generate a solid return on investment and that significant land remains available at its site for expansion in future years.
Boyd Gaming operates 28 casinos across 10 states, including 10 gaming floors in Las Vegas. Boyd remains confident about long-term prospects for their locals business in Nevada.
Boyd Gaming’s Broader 2026 Plans
Boyd Gaming’s involvement isn’t limited to Cadence Crossing; instead they have several large projects underway at once, such as investing $750 million into Norfolk Virginia in partnership with Pamunkey Indian Tribe and creating an $80 million resort complex with 200 rooms of hotel accommodation, commercial casino (featuring 1,500 slots, table games and sportsbook), temporary casino onsite pending permanent development slated to open by 2027.
Boyd Gaming Corporation continues its progress toward revitalization plans at Illinois’ Par-A-Dice Hotel Casino with plans for riverboat development being unveiled recently; building on previous modernization plans estimated at an estimated cost of approximately $160 Million; however no budget details for its latest proposal were offered by Boyd.
